Traffic Safety for the Halloween Season

It’s Halloween season here in Janesville, Wisconsin, and the spooky fun also includes Halloween safety! According to the National Safety Council, children are twice as likely to be struck by a vehicle on Halloween than any other day of the year. In fact, out of all the months of the year, October is ranked #2 for motor vehicle deaths. Drivers and pedestrians should follow easy rules to prevent accidents or injury while enjoying the holiday festivities. Follow these tips and increase safety for everyone:

  • Keep an eye out for people wearing dark clothing.
  • Avoid passing cars that have stopped to let kids out.
  • Be aware of people walking in alleys or out from between parked cars.
  • Keep the driving speed around 5 MPH.
  • Discourage inexperienced drivers from using a car for transportation.
  • Stay focused on the road, don’t text and drive!

Before the Halloween festivities begin, come on over to Gordie Boucher Mazda of Janesville and test drive a treat that lasts!
